Welcome To Fulaa

Fulaa Lifeline International is a Christian ministry of compassion to the suffering people of South Sudan. For the last fifty years, South Sudan has been ravaged by two civil wars, the latest of which resulted in more than two million deaths with millions more displaced. As refugees return to their homeland Fulaa Lifeline International is working alongside churches there to bring the compassion of Jesus Christ to people in great need.

Launched in 1996 through the efforts of our Executive Director, the Rev. Samuel Juma (himself a Sudanese refugee), Fulaa began with an emphasis on meeting the needs of Sudanese refugees who sought asylum in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Since the signing of the peace treaty in Sudan in 2005, Fulaa's focus has shifted to the assistance for refugees seeking to repatriate from the camps in Uganda and Kenya back to their homeland in South Sudan.

Currently, we are focusing our efforts on the area surrounding the town on Nimule situated near the border with Uganda. Working closely with a church there, Fulaa sponsors an orphanage with more than 60 children in residence. We are also assisting with micro-economic and educational projects.

Because of Pastor Juma's connections in Sudan, Fulaa works directly with the needy people it serves without the overhead of a large and complex organization. Through a donation of your time, money or resources you can be involved in front-line and immediate help in one of the neediest parts of the world.
