About Fulaa

In 2005 when Pastor Juma John resettled with his church into the town of Nimule from a refugee camp in Uganda, homeless children came to him looking for help. Some had lost their parents in the war or by disease, some had been abandoned, some had been the victims of abuse. Responding with the compassion of Christ, his church took them in, initially providing a weekend feeding program. This eventually developed into a residential program. From the beginning, Fulaa Lifeline worked alongside the church to help in this effort.

Cornerstone Children's Home is the result of that church-based effort to care for the needy children of Nimule. Today more than 60 children are housed, fed and nurtured in a loving Christian environment. A building is nearing completion located on the same compound as the church, which will provide a safe and healthy place for the children to live.

Pastor Juma John is assisted by Ross Kelly as the Children's Home's co-director. Ross is a Teach for America alumnus who has served the children in Nimule since 2006.

A kindergarten program has begun for the children, and we hope to expand the educational work of the Children's Home.
